Engineering Supervisor position resides within the Project Delivery & Technical Support Division, which supports PBOT Maintenance Operations’ role of routine maintenance and project delivery. The position will establish and improve work practices and methodologies related to transportation assets maintained and constructed by Maintenance Operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an engineering background in civil design with a focus in one or combination of transportation disciplines: sidewalks, asphalt, ADA ramps, drainage systems, and other related roadway infrastructure. This position will supervise a Civil Engineer and GIS Technicians, and will provide engineering-based solutions, expertise, and leadership in analyzing and understanding the economic and performance benefit of preserving PBOT’s transportation assets while ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local standards and regulations. The position will also have oversight of the Sign Shop, leveraging the skills and abilities of the Sign Maker who produces traffic signs installed throughout the City. The position will create and/or review preliminary and/or final emergency and/or construction work zone traffic control plans. This position is an essential employee and a key member of Maintenance Operation’s Incident Command System (ICS) based upon the Federal/FEMA NIMS. The position must respond and report to work as assigned for emergency response operations. What you’ll get to do:

An Ideal Candidate:
Will have a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering field and eight years of progressively responsible experience in professional engineering, including two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role
