About the Youth Infrastructure Fair
Launched in 2024, the annual Youth Infrastructure Fair celebrates National Engineers Week and Black History Month by providing youth with a hands-on introduction to the careers that keep our cities running. We feature a diverse range of industry professionals representing key sectors like water, electricity, transportation, and more - each hosting interactive tables where students learn through activities and discussions.
As they navigate the fair, students use their “infrastructure passport” to record their journey, engage with professionals, and complete the passport to earn prizes (STEM Kits, books, and more). The event is FREE, open to all community members, and features workshops, activities, raffles, and over 40+ industry / community partners.
We are passionate about introducing students to the vital systems that make cities function — from water and electricity to transportation and beyond. We hope the fair will introduce students to career pathways they didn't know about, while also providing valuable education about the built environment.
This event is geared toward students and families and offers a fun, educational environment that connects youth to career pathways in engineering, architecture, construction, and other infrastructure-related fields. Activities include hands-on demonstrations, engaging conversations with professionals, interactive exhibits, and opportunities to explore real-world applications of STEM.
